Scottish Tall Clock

Excellent William IV mahogany neo-classical tall clock.   Wonderful columnar form with good carving.   This is in William IV style and clearly shows the Indian influence in upper shape of the door and both the upper and lower finials of the flanking columns (The popularity of all things Indian peaked with the construction of the Brighton Pavilion which has 47 "onion" domes).   

Original pendulum,  weights and 8-day time and strike works.  Highly figured mahogany in great condition.

Very faint remenants of the signature on the dial (best left original).
