Mahogany Pier Table

No. RDA14181

Superb Philadelphia Neoclassical mahogany pier table with very unusual concave front and half concave sides.

Wonderful bold carving featuring most of the neoclassical elements.

The shaped marble top is original and conforms to the concave front, the sides follow straight back for half the depth then becomes an incurved quarter circle, to fit against a narrow pier.

Most Federal houses featured two front parlors flanking the front door with two front facing windows each, the space between the windows is the pier where pier tables and pier mirrors were made to fit.

All in wonderful original condition.
